Our approach
Copyright belongs to the people who create and own the work. A notice that meets the requirements of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, or of an equivalent statute in another country, is handled quickly, and the material it points to is removed or made unreachable through the Service.
Sending a notice
Write to us on WhatsApp or use the form on the contact page, putting “DMCA notice” at the very top so it lands with the person who deals with copyright.
What a complete notice includes
Who you are and how to reply to you: name, mailing address, phone and email.
Which copyrighted work is affected, named precisely enough that we can tell what it is.
Which material you say infringes it, and where on the Service it appears; a channel name, a title or a web address helps us locate it.
Your good-faith belief, put in writing, that the copyright owner, its agent or the law has not permitted the use you object to.
A declaration, made under penalty of perjury, that the notice is correct and that you hold the right concerned or may act for its holder.
Signed, by hand or electronically.
After a notice arrives
Within 2 business days of a complete notice reaching us, you get an acknowledgement, and within 5 the material has been dealt with. An incomplete notice is answered with a list of the parts still needed.
Counter-notices
Think something of yours came down wrongly, by mistake or because it was confused with other material? A counter-notice can be sent the same way. It needs the identifying details a notice carries, and your statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was wrong.
