Televixy – IPTV on your own clock, from night shift to early start

LG webOS TV setup for late-night and early-morning viewing

An LG television runs webOS and installs its players from the LG Content Store, so the procedure is short and needs no extra hardware: put a player on, hand it your Televixy playlist or login, and the channels arrive. Smart IPTV needs webOS 3.0 or later. Because LG keeps its sleep timer, picture modes and subtitle options in the same Settings menu you open to check the version, this guide sets those up first, while you are already there, and installs the player afterwards. The Magic Remote’s pointer makes the typing quicker.

Keep these within reach, whatever the hour

  • An LG television running webOS 3.0 or newer (Smart IPTV needs it)
  • An LG account, for the LG Content Store
  • Your Televixy M3U link (Smart IPTV) or Xtream login (IPTV Smarters)
  • A phone or laptop, for the Smart IPTV upload

Getting it ready for the hours you watch

  1. Find the webOS version

Press the settings button on the remote, open All Settings, then General. The webOS TV version is listed under About This TV, or under System or Support on some models. Smart IPTV needs 3.0 or later; below that, skip to the store step and look for IPTV Smarters. Either way, stay in Settings for the next four steps.

    Pick a term, no contract

  2. Set the sleep timer

Most webOS versions keep a Sleep Timer under General, in a section called Time and Timers or simply Timers, depending on the year. It switches the television off after the time you choose, and the app stops with it, so it behaves the same whichever player you install later. If the path differs on your set, check your model’s settings.

  3. Choose a darker picture mode

Under Picture, then Picture Mode (inside Select Mode on some versions), Cinema is typically darker and warmer than Standard, and the Eco or energy-saving options lower the brightness further. That keeps the screen from lighting the room at 04:00. Names vary by model year, so check your model’s settings.

  4. Check for Bluetooth headphone output

Under Sound, the output option (Sound Out, or Use Wireless Speaker on some versions) lists Bluetooth devices on models that support them; put the headphones in pairing mode and search from there. Support differs between models and years, so check your model’s settings. Where there is no Bluetooth audio, the same Televixy login on a phone or tablet with headphones does the job for that hour.

  5. Set subtitle options for the TV’s own channels

Accessibility, under General, holds the television’s subtitle options for its own broadcasts. An IPTV player handles subtitles itself, so for films and series you will pick the track inside the player, when the stream carries one. Close Settings when you are done.

  6. Install a player from LG’s store

Press Home, open the LG Content Store (called Apps on newer models) and search. Smart IPTV and IPTV Smarters are the two to look for. iPlayTV is not an option, because it is made only for Apple devices, and TiviMate runs only on Android-based hardware. Install one and open it.

  7. Load your playlist

Smart IPTV shows the television’s MAC address when it opens without a list. On a phone or laptop, go to siptv.app/mylist, enter that MAC, paste your Televixy M3U link and send it, then restart the app on the television. In IPTV Smarters, choose Login with Xtream Codes API and fill in your three values; pointing at the on-screen keyboard with the Magic Remote is quicker than the arrow keys.

  8. Find the guide and catch-up

Once the list loads, open a channel and bring up its program information to see what is on now and next. For programs that aired earlier, look in the player’s menu for a catch-up or archive section; if your player offers it, channels that carry catch-up can be replayed after broadcast, which suits someone who sleeps through the 21:00 slot because the alarm goes at 04:15. If it does not, the guide still tells you what you missed, and a stick or Google TV device with a fuller player can fill the gap on the same television.

  9. Rehearse the quiet setup once

Before the first real late session, run the whole thing end to end: start a channel, move the sound to the headphones, set the sleep timer to fifteen minutes and leave the remote alone. If the television switches off on time and the headphones carried the sound throughout, it will behave the same way at 03:00. If something misbehaves, you have found out while it is easy to put right, and not halfway through a program you have waited all day for.

Sorting it out yourself at any hour

Sound plays but the picture stays black

Usually a decoding mismatch rather than a dead channel. Look in the player’s settings for a different player or decoder option, if it offers one, and if the channel is listed in more than one quality, try another version of it.

The Magic Remote pointer glows over the picture

The pointer appears whenever the remote moves, which is easy to do when it lies on the bed. It fades after a few seconds of stillness, and pressing an arrow button hides it straight away.

Smart IPTV is missing from the store

Smart IPTV needs webOS 3.0 or later, so older LG sets will not list it. Search for IPTV Smarters, and if neither is offered, give the same television a working player by adding a Fire OS stick or a Google TV streamer.

The channel list vanished after a reset

A factory reset or a reinstall wipes the app’s stored playlist, not your subscription. Upload the M3U again at siptv.app/mylist against the same MAC address and restart the app.

The television switches itself off after a few hours

Many LG sets have an automatic power-off that cuts in after several hours without a button press, separate from the sleep timer; it sits with the timers or the energy-saving options. If a long film or a match in the middle of your night runs past it, switch it off for that session or press a button now and then. Check your model’s settings for its exact name.

Headphone sound runs behind the picture

Bluetooth adds a short delay. Many LG sets have an AV sync adjustment in the advanced sound settings that moves the sound to meet the picture; check your model’s settings, since the name and position vary. Headphones with a low-latency mode narrow the gap, and a Fire OS stick, which has its own sync setting on many versions, is another route.

Smart IPTV asks for activation after a week

That is the end of its free period, not a problem with your subscription. Smart IPTV asks a one-time fee per television to keep going, paid to its developer. If you would rather not pay it, IPTV Smarters takes the Xtream login instead.

Message us on WhatsApp when your shift ends: activation takes under 15 minutes, a month starts at $15, and nothing renews unless you buy another term.

LG Smart TV, asked and answered

Can I use iPlayTV on an LG television?

No. iPlayTV is made only for Apple devices. On LG, Smart IPTV and IPTV Smarters are the players to look for in the LG Content Store.

Which webOS version do I need?

Smart IPTV needs webOS 3.0 or later. The version appears in the television’s settings under About This TV or TV Information. Older sets can still use a stick on a spare HDMI port.

Does the LG sleep timer close the app?

The timer switches off the television, and the app goes with it. That makes it a dependable way to stop at a set time, whichever player you use.

Is the Smart IPTV fee charged per television?

Yes. After its free week, Smart IPTV asks a small one-time fee for each television it runs on, paid to the app’s developer. Your Televixy plan is separate and covers however many screens your tier allows at once.

Can I get TiviMate on an LG TV?

Not directly, because TiviMate runs on Android-based devices. A Google TV device or a Fire OS stick in a spare HDMI port runs it, and brings Bluetooth headphone pairing along with it.

Can the LG and a phone play different channels at once?

On a plan with two or more connections, yes. Plans allow one, two, three or five screens playing together, and installing the player on extra devices costs nothing, so the phone can stay signed in for the nights the television is off limits.
