Televixy – IPTV on your own clock, from night shift to early start

Televixy IPTV sport, for fixtures that air in your night

The competitions in the line-up and the broadcasters carrying them, when they tend to land for viewers in the Americas, Europe and Australia, and how to watch at 03:00 quietly or save the match for later without learning the score.

For a nurse in Chicago working nights, an evening Champions League tie in Europe kicks off at 14:00, deep in the hours she sleeps. A fan in Glasgow finds that a west coast NBA game tips off at about 03:00. In Sydney, a Saturday 15:00 Premier League kick-off arrives somewhere between midnight and 02:00. Sport keeps its own clock, and for anyone whose day already runs off the usual timetable the question is rarely whether a match is on. It is when it falls on your clock, and what you do about that: watch it live without waking anyone, or leave it until you are up and keep the result away from you until then.

On the sports side, the 25,000+ live channels run from the big US networks and their regional sports channels to Sky Sports, TNT Sports, the main European football broadcasters, beIN and DAZN, with fight-night cards live on the event channels. Below: which fixtures tend to land in your night, the full table of broadcasters, then both ways of watching them.

The fixtures that fall in your night

Times here are the usual ones, outside the few weeks a year when one country has changed its clocks and the other has not. Check the guide on the day, since it shows each listing at your device’s local time.

Watching from North America

  • Premier League Saturdays start with the early kick-off at 07:30 on the east coast and 04:30 on the west.
  • Grands Prix in Australia, Japan and China generally start between late evening and the small hours.
  • Test cricket from India or Australia on Willow runs through the American evening and night.
  • Champions League evening ties land at 15:00 on the east coast and noon on the west, which for anyone on nights is the middle of the night.

Watching from Britain and Ireland

  • NBA and NHL games on the US west coast start at about 03:00.
  • NFL Sunday night and Monday night games begin at around 01:00 or later.
  • UFC cards from Las Vegas put the main card around 03:00 and the main event usually after 04:00.
  • A Test match in Australia is played from around midnight to breakfast time.

Watching from Australia and New Zealand

  • The Premier League’s Saturday 15:00 games start between midnight and 02:00 in Sydney.
  • Champions League nights in Europe reach the east coast between 05:00 and 07:00.
  • The NFL’s early Sunday games come through in the early hours of Monday.
  • European Grands Prix start around 23:00 or midnight on the east coast, later still across the Tasman.

Watching live at 03:00 without waking the house

  1. Send the sound to headphones. Pair Bluetooth headphones with the TV or the streaming device, or watch on a phone or tablet with earphones; the same login works there and uses one connection.
  2. Turn the picture down. Lower the TV’s brightness or backlight, or pick a darker picture mode for the night. A floodlit pitch at full brightness lights up a whole room.
  3. Use subtitles where they exist. If your player and the channel offer them, they let you keep the volume near zero. On live sport they are hit and miss.
  4. Set a sleep timer on the TV, or in the player if it offers one, in case the match outlasts you.
  5. Have the channels ready before the season. Put the broadcasters from your competition’s row in favorites, so at 03:00 you are two presses from the match instead of searching 25,000+ channels half awake. See the TiviMate guide; there, favorites are a Premium feature.

Saving it for later without learning the score

Sometimes the better plan is to sleep, or to finish the shift, and watch at a sensible hour. Two things make that possible. On the channels that carry catch-up, the match stays in the program guide after it ends and can be started from the first minute; how long it stays there depends on the channel. Where a channel has no catch-up, TiviMate Premium can record instead.

The harder part is the score. A few habits keep it from reaching you first:

  • Switch off score alerts in sports apps, and mute any chat where friends watch live.
  • Stay off the news channels and the score ticker that runs along the bottom of many sports channels.
  • Go into the player through the program guide and play the match from its own slot. The live channel may already be on the post-match analysis.
  • Before you sleep, leave the player on a film channel. Some players reopen on the last channel watched, and that should not be the one with the result on it.

Try it on a match that lands in your night

Every sports channel is in the free 24-hour trial, so ask for it on a day when a fixture falls at an odd hour for you.

Late and early fixtures: questions

Can I watch a match that finished while I was asleep?

On the channels that carry catch-up, yes: open the guide on that channel, step back to the match and play it from the first minute. Not every channel has it, and the archive reaches back further on some channels than on others. Where there is none, TiviMate Premium adds recording, so you can keep the match yourself.

How do I keep the score away from me until I have watched?

Switch off score alerts in any sports app on your phone, mute the group chat, and stay off the news channels. Open the match from its slot in the program guide, since the live channel itself may be showing the result, and before you go to bed leave the player on something neutral, a film channel for instance, in case it reopens on the last channel you watched.

Is the NFL in the line-up?

Yes. Every NFL broadcaster is there, from NBC, ESPN and FOX to NFL RedZone, CBS, the Prime Video games and NFL Network, from week one to the Super Bowl. For a viewer in Britain, the Sunday night and Monday night games start at around 01:00 or later.

Are UFC and boxing cards included?

Yes, on every plan and at no extra charge, on the event channels named in the table: TNT Sports Box Office, ESPN PPV, Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN. A card from Las Vegas usually puts its main event in the British small hours, so it is a natural one to watch on catch-up where the channel carries it.

Can I follow two matches at the same time?

TiviMate Premium on Android hardware has multi-view, which puts two games on one screen. Each picture is its own stream and takes one of the connections on your plan, so a single-connection plan plays one match at a time.

Is every fixture available in 4K?

No. The last column of the table says whether a 4K copy is usual for that competition or limited to selected fixtures. Where one exists, the FHD and HD copies of the same channel sit next to it in the list.
