Televixy – IPTV on your own clock, from night shift to early start

The M3U playlist link: what it carries and which players want it

Next to the Xtream login, your activation message carries one long web address: the M3U playlist link. An M3U is a plain text list in which each entry pairs a channel name with the address of its stream. It exists for players that want a list rather than a login form, mainly VLC, Kodi and Smart IPTV. Be clear about what it brings. A plain M3U usually carries the live channels, which never stop, so it covers a 04:00 news bulletin or a match airing in your night. Catch-up and browsable films and series come through far more reliably with the Xtream login, so use that in any player that offers it.

Keep these within reach, whatever the hour

  • The M3U link sent to you with your activation
  • A player that accepts a playlist address: VLC, Kodi with the IPTV Simple Client, Smart IPTV and others
  • For players that take listings separately, the XMLTV guide address for your account

Getting it ready for the hours you watch

  1. Treat the link like a password

Your username and password are written inside the link, after get.php. Anyone holding it can use your plan and take one of your connections, so never paste it into a public forum or a group chat.

    Pick a term, no contract

  2. VLC on a computer or phone

On a computer, open Media, then Open Network Stream (File, then Open Network on a Mac), paste the link and play. VLC reads every entry into its playlist view. It is a quick way to check the account at an odd hour, but it shows no program guide. Audio tracks and subtitles sit in its Audio and Subtitle menus, and the phone versions offer a sleep timer in the player options in recent releases.

  3. Kodi with the IPTV Simple Client

Install the PVR IPTV Simple Client add-on from Kodi’s own repository and open its settings. Set the location to a remote path, paste the link as the M3U playlist URL, then put the XMLTV address in the EPG settings. Restart Kodi; channels appear under TV with the guide alongside them.

  4. Smart IPTV on a Samsung or LG

Upload the link against the TV’s MAC at siptv.app/mylist, as the Smart IPTV guide explains step by step. The television then fetches the list each time the app opens.

  5. Add the guide address where a player asks

Players that do not take listings from the list itself want a separate XMLTV address. It is the same server, ending in xmltv.php, with your username and password attached; message us on WhatsApp if you would like it written out for your account. Set the player to refresh it daily or on start, so the rows after midnight are filled when you get to them.

  6. Try the channel you will want later, in daylight

If you are counting on one channel for a race at 03:00, open the link in your chosen player during the afternoon and check that channel plays and that its guide row is filled. Any snag then gets sorted while you are unhurried, and if you do need us, a WhatsApp message is all it takes.

  7. Move to the Xtream login where you can

TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro both accept an M3U link, yet in both of them the Xtream login does more: catch-up, films and series land in their own sections rather than one flat list.

Sorting it out yourself at any hour

The list takes ages to open

A full list runs to thousands of entries, and simpler players read every line before showing anything. A player with proper categories, signed in with the Xtream login, handles the same account far more smoothly.

Channels play but there is no guide

Add the XMLTV address, then refresh. Some players match listings by channel ID and leave unmatched channels blank; those channels still play.

Films arrive as one endless list, or not at all

That is the playlist format rather than a fault. For browsable films and series, use a player that takes the Xtream login.

Guide times are an hour or more out

XMLTV listings carry their own time offset, and the player converts them into the device’s zone. Set the device clock to automatic with the correct zone. In Kodi, also look at the add-on’s EPG time shift setting, if your version shows one.

The commentary is in a language you did not expect

In VLC, open Audio, then Audio Track, and pick another track if the stream offers one. Many live channels carry a single track, in which case there is nothing else to choose.

The link suddenly stopped working

If every channel stops on the date your term ends, buy another term on WhatsApp. If it stops mid-term, a copy of the link may be in use somewhere else and holding your connections; message us and we will look.

Other players that take the same login

A login ready at whatever hour you get in

Message us on WhatsApp when your shift ends: activation takes under 15 minutes, a month starts at $15, and nothing renews unless you buy another term.

M3U playlist, asked and answered

Why do free M3U lists stop working?

They are streams lifted from elsewhere and reposted for anyone to grab, so thousands of strangers pile onto the same source and it is blocked or gone within days. Nobody answers when one breaks, the pages offering them are a common route for malware and fake download buttons, and you cannot tell what you are connecting to. A paid link belongs to your account alone, with its own connection count and a support desk open 24/7 on WhatsApp.

Does the M3U link include catch-up?

Usually not in a form players can use. A plain M3U is built around live channels; where film entries are included they arrive inside one long list, and catch-up is rarely something a playlist-only player can offer. The Xtream login is the route for both.

Can I edit the list down to my own channels?

You can save a copy and delete lines in a text editor, but that copy stops updating when the list changes on our side. Favorites or groups inside a player are easier to keep current.

Is VLC good enough for everyday viewing?

For checking a channel quickly, yes. For nightly use, a player with a guide and catch-up suits better, because VLC has no program grid for live channels.

Where is my M3U link?

It is in the activation message on WhatsApp, next to the Xtream details. If you cannot find it at whatever hour you happen to be setting up, message us and we will send it again.

Can the M3U link and the Xtream login run at the same time?

Yes, they are the same account. What counts is how many streams play at once, so a VLC window and a TiviMate screen running together use two connections.

Why does my M3U link contain get.php?

That is the address on the server that writes out your personal list when a player asks for it. The username and password after it tell the server whose list to write, which is exactly why the link has to stay private.

Do I need the guide address if I only watch live?

Not to play channels. Without it, though, you are choosing blind at 02:00, with no program titles and no start times, and nothing tells you that a match has already kicked off. In players that ask for it, adding the address takes a minute and saves that guesswork every night afterwards.
